COLUMBUS, Ohio, January 23, 2025-- Today, Rev1 Ventures, the venture studio that helps entrepreneurs and corporations accelerate innovation, is announcing the promotion of Kristy Campbell to President and Chief Operating Officer. Since joining Rev1 in 2014, Campbell has been instrumental in the strategic vision of Rev1 Ventures, including building out the innovation programs which have supported nearly 1,500 innovators who have gone on to raise more than $2B in capital.

"Kristy has the expertise in knowing what emerging and growing startups need and has excelled during her time at Rev1 - most recently as our Executive Vice President and COO - so this is a natural evolution for both Kristy and Rev1," said Tom Walker, CEO of Rev1 Ventures. "Promoting Kristy underscores our long-term commitment to supporting startups and spinouts in Central Ohio. She has the right background our region needs to build on the success of our non-profit initiatives and continue meeting the needs of entrepreneurs."

Prior to joining Rev1, Campbell spent nearly 20 years working within mostly venture-backed tech startups as an early team member to grow revenue and organize effective teams. In her expanded role, she will continue to manage the day-to-day operations of Rev1, while supporting the implementation of strategic growth areas, including the build-out of new services and innovation space for software startups and life science spinouts. Walker remains as Chief Executive Officer of Rev1 Ventures focusing on strategic initiatives including managing current funds and designing strategies to further scale future investment vehicles through Rev1 Capital.

"I came to Rev1 to support its mission of putting Columbus on the map as a place to start and scale startups - fast forward 10 years, and we've built one of the most successful programs for supporting entrepreneurs," said Campbell. "Having spent the first part of my career building startups, I understand the importance and impact of Rev1's approach for connecting companies to services, capital and space, like the future Software Alley at The Peninsula, that allows entrepreneurs to learn and grow together. I continue to be inspired by the innovators in our region and the maturing startup ecosystem, and I know this is just the beginning of what we can accomplish in Central Ohio."

Rev1's non-profit programs help high-growth software, advanced technology, and life sciences startups validate markets, find customers, build teams, and prepare to access funding, while enabling corporate partners to identify, source, and invest in startups. Its unique approach breeds innovation, improves startup success rates, and ultimately, helps entrepreneurs build great companies.

Since Rev1's launch nearly a decade ago, the organization has helped solidify Columbus as the Midwest's hub for startup growth and remains a top investor in the Great Lakes region. To date, the clients Rev1 supports have generated $6.37B in all-time economic impact overall, including $3.39B in the Columbus region alone.
