Sail Venture Partners Welcomes Gavigan, Best-Selling Author of Healthy Child Healthy World to Advisory Board
COSTA MESA, CA and NEW YORK, NY, July 28, 2010-- The Advisory Board of SAIL Venture Partners has announced its newest member: Christopher Gavigan, author of the best-selling book, Healthy Child Healthy World - Creating a Cleaner, Greener, Safer Home, and CEO of Healthy Child Healthy World, an innovative nonprofit organization focused on environmental health and sustainable, nontoxic consumer products. SAIL, a leading cleantech venture capital firm investing in the areas of energy, water and green innovation, welcomes Gavigan on to their Advisory Board, made up of leaders from the environmental, corporate, technology, and scientific communities. Fellow SAIL Advisory Board Member, Dr. Ron Hart, is an internationally recognized scientist, scholar, and expert in business acceleration strategies for emerging growth companies.
Most recently, Mr. Gavigan designed strategic partnerships with Google, WebMD, Target, Seventh Generation, Microsoft, Babycenter, Universal Studios, Whole Goods, and countless market leaders in the area of formulation compliance and consumer marketing while forming Healthy Child Healthy World. In addition to SAIL, he sits on the Board of Directors of Mount Sinai Hospital's Children Environmental Health Center, UCLA Environmental Health Sciences Department, and is the Chief Advisor for Green Product Innovation Institute. He included over 40 notable contributions in his book, Healthy Child Healthy World, from leading doctors, activists, and celebrities, including Dr. Philip Landrigan, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, First Lady Michelle Obama, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sheryl Crow, Dr. Alan Greene, and Dr. Harvey Karp.

Raised in New York and Connecticut, Christopher graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a double major in Environmental Science and Business, and did postgraduate work in Psychology at UCLA. His wife, Jessica Capshaw, is an actress best known for her role as Jamie Stringer in The Practice and for her role as Dr. Arizona Robbins in Grey's Anatomy.
