Foundation Capital Announces New Entrepreneurs-in-Residence

Srinivas Mantripragada and Geoffrey Woo Join VC Firm To Help Build the Next Wave of Great Companies

MENLO PARK, Calif., June 3, 2014-- Silicon Valley venture capital firm Foundation Capital has added two new entrepreneurs-in-residence, Srinivas Mantripragada and Geoffrey Woo. Foundation Capitalís Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) program allows successful entrepreneurs from different backgrounds to hone their ideas and expertise under the guidance of seasoned venture capital partners. The program was founded under the expectation that, given the proper resources, great minds will come up with great ideas.

About Srini

Srinivas Mantripragada is a seasoned product and technology executive and comes with over 20 years of experience in security, infrastructure, networking, cloud/SAS and service providers. Srini was most recently VP, Technology, at Infoblox, where he drove new technologies and product initiatives in security, infrastructure and automation. Prior to that, Srini played numerous CTO/VP roles at RedShift Networks (leader in Enterprise SBC category), NetContinuum (leader in Web Application Firewall category; acquired by Barracuda Networks) and Determina (leader in Host Intrusion Security; acquired by VMware). Previously, he worked with MIPS/SGI and at HP-Labs. Srini is a frequent speaker in leading conferences, driving standards and authored more than 50+ technical and product publications with 8 patents. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from University of California, Irvine.

About Geoff

Geoffrey Woo is a product and engineering professional with interest and expertise around mobile, ambient/passive technologies, and financial technology. Prior to joining Foundation Capital as an Entrepreneur-In-Residence, Geoffrey was Product Manager for Groupon's MerchantOS group, where he helped build and launch their tablet-based payments and point-of-sale offering. Previously, Geoffrey was CEO and co-founder of Glassmap, a mobile technology company at the forefront in the location sharing and local discovery space; Groupon acquired Glassmap in January 2013. He also spent time at Arista Networks, Inc., as a Software Engineer.

As a part of the EIR program at Foundation Capital, entrepreneurs receive time, domain expertise, network and capital from the company. The EIR program began when Foundation Capital was founded in 1995, and since its inception EIRs has helped start or landed executive positions in companies like Atheros, Peribit, ONStor, Hammerhead Systems, Solar Flare Communications, Silver Spring Networks and more.
