Wanderful Media Accelerates Momentum With Added $14.5M Funding
Cumulative Funding Now More Than $50M From Major Media Companies
Announces New Find&Save Android App for Finding Nearby Sales
LOS GATOS, Calif., April 28, 2014-- Wanderful Media™, the company behind Find&Save®, today announced $14.5 million in additional funding from existing media company investors. The new round brings the total funding to $50.5 million since the company's launch in September 2012.
The company also announced the launch of Find&Save for Android, which joins its existing apps for iPad and iPhone. The news comes on the heels of the one-year anniversary of launching the reimagined Find&Save. The new funding will help fuel future growth and innovation for Find&Save apps.
"Wanderful Media is a great revenue opportunity for the media industry as we partner together to leverage today's technology for future growth," said Mark Aldam, president of Hearst Newspapers, a senior vice president and director of Hearst Corporation, and member of the Board of Directors for Wanderful Media. "We are pleased with the tremendous progress Wanderful Media has made, and we're looking forward to the upcoming opportunities Find&Save will bring to the industry."
New Android App
Find&Save for Android is now available in the Google Play store. With the Android version of the mobile app, shoppers can swipe through weekly ads in a page-flipper layout, and tap on items for the product detail page.
Find&Save provides a comprehensive collection of nearby sales and products. Across all browsers and apps, shoppers can browse through local offers, create and view their shopping list and share deals with friends. Find&Save features local and national offers from more than 400 retailers at 150,000+ store locations across the country.
Since the launch of Find&Save one year ago, Wanderful Media has seen strong momentum in new retail and content delivery partnerships, growth into new regional markets and the opening of a new Silicon Valley-style office in downtown Chico, Calif.
Product momentum over the past 12 months includes:
•A reimagined Find&Save rolled out across newspaper websites across the country, and the launch of FindnSave.com.
•New Find&Save apps for iPad and iPhone, where shoppers can find sales nearby, browse mobile circulars and access shopping lists on the go.
•New partnerships with major retailers include the development of mobile offers to local shoppers based on their location.
"It has been an exceptional year for Wanderful Media, highlighted by positive reviews for Find&Save and tremendous growth of our mobile and tablet apps," said Ben T. Smith, IV, CEO of Wanderful Media. "We have effectively reimagined circulars for the digital, mobile and social age, and as a result Find&Save has quickly become a strategic partner for retailers to retain and grow in-store sales, and an attractive option over Amazon and other e-commerce sites. We've come a long way in the last year alone, but we're just getting started."
