Certified Security Solutions, Inc. Announces Strategic Investment from Plymouth Ventures

Certified Security Solutions redefines the price point for the adoption and operation of Private/Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for Global 2000 clients with the Certificate Management System (CMS) and the enterprise scalable PKI as a Service (PKIaaS) offering.

CLEVELAND, April 7, 2014-- Certified Security Solutions, Inc. (CSS) on Thursday announced its strategic relationship with Plymouth Ventures, a growth-company portfolio manager. CSS received a multi-million dollar equity investment from Plymouth Ventures to accelerate channel strategies, market penetration, and product development of the Certificate Management System (CMS) and PKI as a Service (PKIaaS) platforms. Expansion will take place in the direct sales force as well as reseller channels, international partners, and complimentary strategic partnerships. Funding will also accelerate developments on the software and service offerings surrounding the patent-pending VSCEP™ technology, which is at the core of CMS's enhanced security posture, addressing both enterprise devices and applications as well as embedded systems.

To help clients mitigate the risk of cyber-attacks and other security threats, CSS developed and launched the Certificate Management System – a flexible and secure platform for the seamless issuance and management of digital certificates in a public key infrastructure across a wide array of devices, applications, and services. Delivered to customers via scalable enterprise software, managed services, and software as a service (SaaS) models, CMS enables On-Device Key Generation (ODKG), simple certificate issuance, validated simple certificate enrollment protocol – VSCEP™, along with extensive reporting and alerting capabilities that ensure strong authentication and authorization while reducing service outages due to operational issues.

Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Plymouth Ventures invests in revenue producing companies with the potential for significant growth. Plymouth Ventures' attraction to CSS was driven by its industry leading security infrastructure solutions, strong management team, and existing client base of Fortune 500 companies.

Mark Horne, Plymouth Ventures Chief Executive Officer, commented, "CSS has developed a unique software platform providing issuance, management, and reporting solutions needed for nearly all companies who wish to securely manage their identification and authentication needs. The software platform is the culmination of nearly 13 years of experience setting up the most robust and secure infrastructures within some of the largest corporations in the world. We are pleased to partner with this strong dynamic team at CSS as they continue to provide their customers with industry leading solutions in the security space."

Kevin von Keyserling, CSS President and CEO added, "We are pleased to be working with Plymouth Ventures as we enter the next growth phase in our company's progression. Plymouth's experienced operational team, and the financing round they led, will make it possible to fully deploy our strategy in 2014. In addition, this allows us to better service our customers and provide them with the latest solutions to securely operate their respective businesses."
